Signing the church

On Sunday January 23, 2011 we went to St. John Neumann church for mass. It's the church where we'll baptize Jack, but the main building is under construction so we're waiting till that's complete. They've come to the point where they are almost done and they invited everybody to come sign their name somewhere on the altar. It's so beautiful and I can't wait to see it completed.

First mommy and Jack signed his name.

Then he told Dad where to sign the rest of the names.

Here was the end result. Jack did such a good job writing. We signed right where the priest will stand.

Look at all the names! They were above our heads on both sides!

5 Months Old!

Guess who's 5 months old!

From 5 Months old

Sorry we're a little late but helllloooo we have a 5 month old!

Jack is wearing all 6-9 month clothing and 9 month pants but he's quickly growing out of a few of the shirts in length. I'll weigh him tomorrow morning to see how much big man weighs. He's close to sitting up on his own but still needs our help to catch when he gets tired

I think when we started solids he doesn't quite understand that it's not everything that's solid. He wasn't down in the chair all of 5 seconds before he turned and spotted teddy and went for him.

And have I not given you this look at some point?

2010 Was A Good Year

2010 was a wild and crazy year for us. We had many changes and I just couldn't resist doing a year in review.

We celebrated New Years 2010 with friends. Since I was already pregnant I was the designated driver. Everybody was really proud of me for staying up past 12 even though I didn't make it long after midnight.

January and February we celebrated some friends' birthdays while somebody else was busy growing inside my belly. Luckily, I was fortunate to not get morning sickness or any of the other nasty 1st trimester sickness stuff.

We also learned in February that I was carrying a healthy baby and we even got to see him for the first time.

March was a big month for us. I had the annual rodeo bulletproof party to work (such a great fundraiser event for the rodeo scholarship fund). We also found out I was carrying a boy! Jay and I were both overjoyed with the news.

We told Grandma and Grandpa in a very special way.

April we visited Grandma and Grandpa in New York. As they say....I finally popped! I was huge and flying was not fun.

May was pretty boring but in June we went on our annual beach trip with friends. I'll spare you the beach pictures because frankly I looked like a beached whale and nobody needs to see that.

July we spent enjoying Austin and our wonderful friends.

August was a really big month for us.

We enjoyed some time with friends.

I was able to celebrate my birthday in the most wonderful way possible. Happy 31st birthday to me!

At 2:00 pm on August 10, 2010 I went to my 39th week doctors appointment and she stripped my membranes. She also let me be induced but by 6:30 pm I was in full active labor.

After 27 hours of very intense and exhausting labor Jack was born at 9:07pm on August 11, 2010. He gave us a few very scary hours during labor but he came out screaming and perfect.

He got to meet his grammy.

He also met his godmother.

We finally got to go home and recover from being in the hospital. I still can't believe they let me leave with him.

At the end of August Jack met another very important man in his life. He got to meet grandpa for the first time. Grandpa traveled all the way from New York to see him.

September came and Jack got bigger and stronger. I think he finally realized who his parents were.

We went to our first baptism for our friend Reid.

October flew by. Jack continued to grow like a weed but did get dressed up for Halloween.

November he found a love of football.

It's been a crazy and life changing year but we wouldn't have changed any of it.
Happy New Year everybody!
