Betcha wonder how he's doing???

Yeah, I thought so.

Jack is MUCH better and even went back to daycare today. Jay actually had to wake him up which is a good sign and he slept completely through the night again so I think he's all better. His bumps are still healing and flaking off and I think they will be gone by this weekend. I think his fair skin makes them look worse than they normally are.

Unfortunately, Hand Foot and Mouth has claimed another victim.
Jay.
Yes, Jay got it.
What's that you say??? Adults rarely get it becuase most of them develop the antibodies to resist the virus......well not Jay. He got it.

He stayed home with him all week and of course Jack sneezed, coughed and drooled on him. Would you like to take a guess how this is spread??? Yup, lucky Jay.

He had a slight fever last night but we stayed in complete denial about what was actually happening. This morning, after I got out of the shower, he informed me that he wasn't going to work and that he thinks he got it. He had spots on his face, hands and feet. I had to rush to get ready, get Jack to daycare and get to work myself all in the time it would normally take me to get to work. Not sure how on earth I got to work on time but I did.

We thought that he might have chicken pox since the sores didn't really look the same so after informing him that if he did he'd be staying at his mothers if it was in fact chickenpox. I've read that if you have chicken pox to late or to early that you don't build up an immunity to it like the rest of us did. He went to the doctor and it was confirmed that he did have Hand Foot and Mouth disease. The PA said that most other patients bore her but he comes in with the good stuff and keeps it interesting. I'm not a fan of doctors (most...I do like Darrin), I don't like taking pills and I don't like being sick so of course I made sure that Jay was not going to give it to me. Luckily they doubt I'll get it.

Jay says that his hands and feet feel like every nerve is exposed. He is just uncomfortable and in pain but not a kind of pain that pain killers will take care of. The worst part is that he knows what's coming and he knows that Friday will most likely be the worst day as far as pain goes. If he doesn't answer his phone or respond to emails for a few days it's becuase it hurts to type.
