Stimpy love

Stimpy has been with me for a long time. He's 12 years old and has always been grumpy, even as a kitten. We joke that he was destined to be an only child but never was. Stimpy had never really been around dogs when we adopted Dexter so they took a while to warm up to each other. I do catch them being nice to each other every once in a while though so there is hope. Stimpy wasn't thrilled when Jack came home with us from the hospital either. He likes a quiet house and Jack is definitely not quiet. He normally keeps his distance which is why you don't see him in many pictures but every once in a while he'll get brave and walk next to him.

And then Jack gets to give him some loving.

Stimpy wasn't really a fan of Jack's loving. He spent the next hour grooming himself and dodging Dexter.

Jacks first lemon

Jack meet lemon. Lemon meet Jack.

I was at dinner with a few of my friends and Melody (Jacks Godmother) wanted to give him a lemon. I just had to capture his first taste of something really sour. We're pretty good about giving him a variety of foods but he'd never had a lemon before.

9 Month Stats

I am sorry this is posted a bit late but I wanted to wait 'til I'd taken Jack to his 9 month well baby appointment. I had to wait 'til my contract was up at work before I could take him.

Our "little" man isn't so little.

He's 24.5 lbs which is the 95%
He's 30 inches long which is 94%
His head is 45.5 which is 50%...who would have known his head is average. He is Jay's kid.

He's the size of a toddler! The doctor isn't concerned though becuase at least he's proportionate and he's always been a big little man. Luckily (for my back) he's slowing down.

Did you know he's got 6 teeth? His bottom two came in first, then his fangs, and now his top teeth finally cut.

And in case you were wondering he still sucks his lower lip.

He's talking a lot too. He loves saying, "Dada," "Mama," and even responds, "Yeah," when we ask him questions. He wakes up by yelling, "Dada," 'til Jay comes and gets him, and when he's tired he crawls to me saying, "Mama." He gives hugs and baby kisses that are slobbery and absolutely wonderful. He also loves everybody he meets...I swear he's the only baby I know who never got stranger anxiety. His favorite place to visit is the grocery store (not suprising) but he might like the splash pad just as much after this weekend when I take him for the first time.

We went to Church to meet Grammy and then headed for a quick lunch. We also headed down to Buy Buy Baby to buy Jack some stuff. What's Mothers day with out spending a ton of money on Jack?
We took a few movies but those will have to be posted later becuase they take forever to upload and I'm tired.

Let's do some catch up?

It's been a bad few months in our house so of course the first thing out the door was blogging. It seems that somebody has always been sick. Spring allergies have hit the family hard. This will be our catch up post.

Jack's Godfather, Josh, sent him an Easter present. It's a little big but I've made a promise to him that he'll wear it soon....probably this summer. He does look cute in it though. Purple is a good color on him.

Then we tried on some UT hats. They are getting much closer to fitting and will definitely be worn this summer.

He loves sticking his tongue out all the time now. It's cute. He does look good in orange though.

He wasn't very sure about the Notre Dame hat though.

Hugs from mom always make it better.

He likes to bite our faces too. If either one of us ever have a bruise on our cheeks, eye or nose the chances that it's from Jack are about 100%.

It's Easter time!

Grandpa made the trip all the way from Albany, NY to see Jack. I think Jack missed his grandpa a lot.

Jack loves to show off his maraca to Grandpa. He's been going to music class and so far it's one of his favorites.

I think that pretty much gets us caught up. The spring has been really hard on our allergies and in the last two months somebody has always been sick. We're finally looking much better. The weather is wonderful and hot. We're spending more and more time outside running, playing, and going to parks. There will lots more pictures to come, so stay tuned.

Swings equal happiness

After a full day of being cranky and not eating very much we took Jack to Tipton's 2nd birthday party in hopes of him snapping out of his funk. Well, he napped for the first hour so he was in a better mood but still not liking anything we did. After presents and the pinata we went to the swings in hopes of Jack perking up a bit.

Low and behold.....what's that???? A smile!

You can see his two bottom teeth in this picture.

He then started to realize that we were going to be leaving soon.

He was not happy.

But a few more pushes and a kiss from mom and things are better.

We got home and put him to bed but we were in for another bad night. After several times up with dad with no success going down, I ended sleeping on the couch sitting up holding him becuase he wouldn't lay down with out screaming but would fall asleep instantly on my shoulder. Jay was in the same position on Friday night and the couch is a major upgrade from the chair he slept in. We ended up taking him to a walk-in clinic that was open on Sundays (I had gone there a week earlier to get diagnosed as having strep). Our suspicions were confirmed and he had a double ear infection and a red throat but the throat could be from crying and whining so much. We were able to go fill his Rx that day and get both doses in him and then next night already noticed a big difference. He's been sleeping much better and is only waking up at 4:30 for his paci. I'm sure once his ears clear up we'll be back to sleeping through the night once again.
